Two seafarers died and two crew members were seriously injured in a fire aboard Norwegian coastal cruise ship Nordlys. The incident on 15 September led to 207 passengers and the remaining 55 crew having to be evacuated from the 11,204gt Hurtigruten-operated passenger vessel. Because the fire had damaged electrical and pumping systems, the ship took on more water than could be pumped out, causing it to develop a 22° list, Norway state broadcaster NRK reported.
