Between late October and early December 2010, there were three significant bulk-carrier casualties, which lead to a combined loss of more than 40 Chinese seafarers: the 45,108dwt Jian Fu Star (sunk on 27 October), the 56,893dwt Nasco Diamond, (10 November), and the 50,149dwt Hong Wei (3 December).
