Drifting oil tanker rams drilling unit

A tanker and an offshore drilling unit collided off Texas on 2 May, damaging both vessels but causing no spill or injuries, the US Coast Guard told SAS. The accident occurred at 07.25 in the Aransas Pass Channel near Corpus Christi. The tanker, FR8 Pride, lost propulsion when heading inbound in the channel and drifted into the drilling unit, Rowan EXL-I.
