US court upholds chemical death ruling

A US court has ruled that the owners of a hazardous cargo were not responsible for the death of a seafarer in a deadly vessel collision and explosion. General cargo ship Rickmers Genoa (30,000dwt) collided with the 5,76 ldwt South Korean general cargo ship Sun Cross in the Yellow Sea in 2005. The collision immediately sank the smaller vessel, killing all but two of its 15-member crew.
