Michigan Supreme Court upholds Antrim Circuit Court ruling in case clarifying effect of property tax foreclosure on severed mineral interests

LANSING,Mich.-The Michigan Supreme Court last week upheld the decision of the Antrim Circuit Court in Comben (Antrim County Treasurer) v.State of Michigan by a 4-3 decision,vacating a 2004 ruling by the state's Court of Appeals,saying that the case should not have been heard at the appellate level,as the state was not an "aggrieved party."
