Tanker robbed in South China Sea

The ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre (ReCAAP ISC) has released details of a product tanker robbery and siphoning that occurred in the South China Sea. Moresby 9 was under way at position 03° 45.93 N, 105° 10.24 E, 48.6nm northwest of Pulau Anambas on 4 July 2014 when a small fishing vessel approximately 7 m long came alongside it. The crew of Moresby 9 heard a gunshot and nine robbers armed with machetes and three pistols were sighted on the deck.
