Maritime English for Italians

A new course - 'Knowing Maritime English' (ME) - is being piloted at Genoa's San Giorgio Nautical School, where fourth- and fifth-year pupils are Mailing it for the Society of Ship Masters and Marine Engineers (SSMME) of Camogli. The course was devised by SSMME's vice-president Bruno Malatesta and Alexia Piaggio, who teaches technical English for maritime purposes. Piaggio told //-AS Maritime that she and Captain Malatesta aimed to produce "a set of non-profit-making, web-based pages".
