SE Asian piracy drops in November

Southeast Asia, which has seen a rising number of incidents of tankers being hijacked for bunkers or clean petroleum products, saw a decline in such attacks last November. Statistics from Singapore-based Regional Co-operation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships (ReCAAP) Information Sharing Centre show that just seven incidents were reported in November. The number of incidents hit a 12-month low and the level is significantly lower than the 25 incidents reported in August.
