Global maritime technology company Martek Marine has launched what it describes as an affordable teiemedicine service, iVital. The company says this could save shipowners hundreds of thousands of dollars by avoiding costly, and often unnecessary, course diversions and helicopter evacuations through the misdiagnosis of ill or injured crew members.
