Singapore-based Regional Co-operation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships (ReCAAP) in Asia Information Sharing Centre has raised concerns about the "alarming" prevalence of incidents in the Sulu-Celebes Sea and off eastem Sabah in its December's report. ReCAAP called upon littoral states and ship operators to firmly address the issue of crew abductions, a number of which have been attributed to militant group Abbu Sayyaf.
