Lifeboat drills must save lives, not lose them

When accidents happen at sea, the only thing that matters is getting passengers and crew out of danger as soon as possible. It's ironic, then, that accidents involving lifeboats can be deadly. In the past 10 years globally, there have been 60 seafarer fatalities and 145 serious injuries from testing of lifeboats alone. This is unacceptable.
