ClassNK certifies its first CSMS

Tokyo-headquartered classification society ClassNK has issued its first certification for a Cyber Security Management System (CSMS) to NYK Group subsidiary NYK LNG Shipmanagement, and its managed liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier Pacific Mimosa. ClassNK released its Cyber Security Management System for Ships guideline in March 2019, which provides information about ensuring, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the CSMS of companies and ships with the goal of safe navigation. It includes management measures regarding protection against cyber risks in the navigation, as well as construction/design stages of ships.
