摘要

The new offence of corporate manslaughter may not apply to individual directors but a proposed new Bill to put them in the dock over workplace casualties means they cannot relax just yet. The Health and Safety (Directors' Duties) Bill was published and submitted for debate on 8 December by Jarrow MP, Stephen Hepburn. It was drawn up with the Centre for Corporate Accountability and is supported by the TUC, unions the T&G and UCATT, and the Simon Jones Memorial Campaign. The Bill is sponsored by Ross Cranston QC MP, who originally introduced it as a Ten-Minute Rule Bill in April 2003.
