Progress charted on corporate killing, directors' duties and increasing fines at landmark conference

THREE KEY LEGISLATIVE REFORMS on the new offence of corporate killing, the imposition of duties upon company directors and increasing fine levels were discussed at a conference held at the TUC by the Centre for Corporate Accountability, Corinne Atkins writes. With accident statistics remaining stable at around 300 fatalities a year since 1974 there was a consensus about the necessity for beefing up the current legislative framework.
