TRAINING INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR

Training at the Track Hazard School covers all aspects of track safety, from hazards that can lead to health and safety failures to those than can affect rail services themselves. Programmes are open to all employees at all levels, the school is open day and night to cater for shift-workers, and the training provided is practical, interactive and memorable. The Track Hazard School was set up by Neil Pepper, a night safety manager with Tube Lines, who engaged with 100 people from Tube Lines and contractors to collect information and kit to replicate an open section of track. The School replicates more than 50 hazards and offers great opportunities for all Underground workers to understand more about the track environment and its potential hazards.
