A new perspective

Against the sombre backdrop of the anniversary of the Gleision Mine disaster and the funerals of the two recently slain Manchester police officers, IOSH raised lots of issues at this year's party conferences. We attracted hundreds of delegates to our 'Get a new perspective' stand, including Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg; Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander; Business Secretary Vince Cable; Universities and Science Minister David Willetts; Leader of the House of Lords Lord Strathclyde; Justice Secretary Chris Grayling; and Northern Ireland Secretary Theresa Villiers, as well as a delegation from the Welsh Assembly. Using our 'hall of mirrors' to show how reality can be distorted, we successfully debunked myths and repeatedly made the business case for good health and safety and our Li£e Savings campaign.
