Last month, IOSH continued to press for improved corporate reporting by registering our interest in contributing to the European non-binding guidelines for non-financial reports that will support the new Directive, taking current best practice into account. Our purpose will be to help ensure that the health and safety performance indicators in such reports are meaningful and comparable, so that this motivates improved performance. Further to this, and following our successful multi-stakeholder debate on ethics and sustainability, IOSH continued to promote health and safety beyond compliance in CSR. We met with both the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and the new professional body, the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. We also liaised with the US Co-ordinator for 'OSH volunteering' in Bangladesh and registered our keenness to participate in the upcoming Brussels stakeholder workshop which, importantly, will help inform Europe's future CSR strategy to 2020.
