IOSH has thrown its support behind a new toolkit, which has been designed to improve safety standards and reduce accidents among workers when digging. Representatives from the leading health and safety body attended the launch of the 'Safe Digging is Not Enough' toolkit (SHP August, page 9), which aims to reduce the number of accidents caused when workers strike underground utilities such as electric, gas and water pipes while excavating. Richard Jones, head of policy and public affairs at IOSH, attended the launch event for the kit on 24 June together with IOSH vice president Graham Parker.
