New electric tape based on polyimide film developed by the Elinar Joint Stock Company is used in the insulation system of secondary-pole coils of an NB-418K6 tractional electric motor. Test results confirm the possibility of using the new tape in motors with a winding working Temperature of 205 deg.C for 100,000 hr at an electric field strength of 2.6 kV/mm.
