Fly-By-Wire S-92 Makes First Flight

The first H-92 to feature fly-by-wire technology has completed its first successful flight. The first flight took place Dec. 20 at 0900 local from the Sikorsky Development Flight Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. The new fly-by-wire technology is designed to significantly improve aircraft maneuverability, safety and effectiveness. Sikorsky has two development programs intended to use fly-by-wire technology, the X2 technology demonstrator, and the newest model of the Black Hawk, the UH-60M.
