FLUXGATE SENSORS USED FOR A.C. FIELDS MEASUREMENTS. STUDY ON A COMPUTER ASSISTED CONFIGURATION

Using a computer assisted configuration, the behaviour of the TFS-3 fluxgate sensor was studied, related to the measurement of alternating magnetic fields. The information regarding the amplitude of the alternating field is given by the side bands of the even harmonics of the exciting field. Good results were obtained (linear transfer characteristics) for alternating magnetic fields with frequencies up to 5 kHz and amplitudes in the range 0-1.6. 10~(-4)T. This study certifies the possibility of using the fluxgate sensors, within reasonable limits, for double function magnetometers.
