RADON METROLOGY. IONIZATION CHAMBER PULSE METHOD

The calculated efficiency of the ionization chamber pulse method and a measuring device based on a data acquisition system and a dedicated software, allowing to perform an experimental study of the time and amplitude distributions of the pulses produced by the Radon and its progeny alpha-particles in the sensitive volume of the ionization chamber, are presented. The preliminary results indicate the possibility to measure the volume activity of the Radon and its progeny with uncertainties not exceeding 5-6%.
