Many jobs require some type of lifting application. Quite often its a simple lift, picking something up from one spot and moving it to another. This is often done with whatever piece of equipment is available that can handle the lift. Most construction equipment has some lifting capacity or capability. Loaders, excavators and backhoe loaders all typically use a lifting arm, bucket hook, fork, grapple, or other attachment. Equipment manufacturers have designed buckets with lifting eyes or hooks to facilitate the installation of pipe, trench boxes, plating, or other such things. There are lifting arm attachments for all of these machines as well as skid-steer loaders, mini excavators and the relatively new track-type skid loaders.
