CDOT Rehabilitating Red Cliff Arch Bridge

In March, the Colorado Department of Transportation began a project to rehabilitate the historic Red Cliff Arch Bridge on US-24, nine miles south of Minturn, Built in 1940, the steel arch bridge spans the Eagle River and Union Pacific Railroad tracks over a deep gorge in difficult terrain. The site is also in an environmentally sensitive area. US-24 between Minturn and Leadville forms a vital part of the Top of the Rockies Scenic and Historic Byway and is also designated a National Scenic Byway.
