Helping the poor of Romania is not something you would normally associate with the RHA's international department. But it has been doing so indirectly for several years. Audrey Casey reports The Road Haulage Association's international affairs department often gets requests for help from people outside the industry. Some years ago a policeman with Derbyshire police, Darrol Staten, contacted me looking for some advice on taking an HGV to Romania.
