The RHA Technical Committee met at The Hardstaff Group's premises in Nottingham on 22 June to discuss various issues that the RHA's new Green Group will need to consider moving forward. The committee received feedback from group members regarding the results and savings achieved by reducing the maximum truck speed. All companies agreed that by far the biggest saving in fuel and emission reductions was achieved when managing vehicle idling, coupled with driver training and the monitoring of individual driver performance. The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence was seen as an extremely useful tool to progress driver training.
