Georgia appeared ready to use a clean spoon off the legislative floor. Both the state House of Representatives and Senate were mulling over a new approach to highway and bridge funding―public-private partnership. "We love the competitive bid process as an industry because everybody is eating out of the same spoon," Therol Brown, executive director of the Georgia Highway Contractors Association, told ROADS & BRIDGES. "We also realize as an industry that there is certainly not enough money to go around to build all the needed projects. Any innovative idea that would enable us to have those projects is supported."
