Modularity was the theme for the winner of the ATSSA innovation Awards this year. The trucks reconditioned by Royal Truck & Equipment Inc., Coopersburg, Pa., can be configured with interchangeable racks, a road-sign cage, an over-cab barrel rack and a multitude of ways to suit different applications. "People really like the idea that everything is modular, that you can add components to the truck as needed," Rob Roy, president of Royal Truck, told Roads & Bridges. "We developed this year a barrel containment system where everything is modular," and can be adjusted to contain as many barrels as the user needs.
