Wilson Combat is perhaps best known for the custom 1911s it produces, but for more than a decade it has been in the long gun business as well, producing a number of different AR variants. Recently the company decided to sell upper receiver assemblies in addition to its line of complete rifles. Currently Wilson Combat offers uppers in seven different calibers-.204 Ruger, 5.56 NATO, .223 Wylde, 6.8 SPC II, .300 AAC Blackout, 7.62x40 Wilson Tactical, and .458 SOCOM-in five different barrel lengths from 11.3 inches to 20 inches. I ordered a 16-inch Recon Tactical upper assembly chambered in .300 BLK.
