A very talented Victorian engineer, that's who, and he deserves a lot more credit than he generally gets for the design of the great St Pancras train shed, working with the Midland Railway's engineer, William Henry Barlow. The roof has now been restored to closely resemble the long-lost Ordish original. It is braced by a diamond latticework of slender rods, like Norman Foster's Gherkin laid sideways.
