That same ethos applies to new product development and Michael is rightly proud of the technology and creativity that has gone into AG's newest product: Fiamma, a premium flagstone range with Enduur 2 technology. "Fiamma is an Italian name, meaning little flame, and the Fiamma flagstone range is created from local, sustainable materials to replicate the flamed granite flagstones that are often a favourite with architects specifying high-end schemes," said Michael. "While flamed granite is prized for a blistered finish and muted tones, it is largely sourced from China or India, so there can be long lead times and the physical transit also adds very significantly to the carbon footprint. Granite is also prone to price fluctuations driven by demand-supply tensions and transportation costs. I wanted to create a product with the same aesthetic and better product performance attributes, but sustainably manufactured."
