The power module is the most effective factor in improving the durability of a motor-driving inverter. Two methods of applying non-insulated technology to a high-voltage inverter system were attempted in this work. One approach was to reduce the thermal resistance of the silicone insulation sheet by using fluorine grease. The other was to reduce the stress in the solder joints by using a small Cu-Mo buffer. As a result, a non-insulated packaging technology for application to Fuel Cell Vehicles (FCVs) has been developed that achieves an optimum balance between thermal resistance and durability.
