FOR vinyl only: Innovative pilots in vinyl siding recycling

Vinyl siding continues to be in strong demand within the residential housing market. Although its durability, low maintenance, aesthetics and cost performance are a few of the factors contributing to this demand, vinyl siding will eventually end up in the waste stream after many decades of use. A study conducted by the Vinyl Council of Canada (Mississauga, Ontario) in 2000 showed that by the year 2010, the annual amount of post-consumer vinyl siding entering Canada's waste stream could be as high as 32 million pounds.
