Last month, the first part of this two-part series focused on the key trends and issues driving the electronics processing industry in unregulated markets. This month, the focus shifts to Alberta, California and Maine, where state and provincial programs have processors operating within a regulated electronics processing environment. In the late summer of 2006, E-Scrap News surveyed processors participating in the Alberta, California and Maine programs to uncover the benefits and drawbacks of running an e-scrap processing operation in a state or provincially regulated environment.
