Taking an integrated approach

As in many parts of the country, New York State's solid waste management planning efforts are based on a planning unit developing a system to manage the solid wastes generated by the municipalities within that planning unit area. The processes or facilities developed include municipal and private programs, or a combination of municipal and private systems to meet the unique needs of the waste generators within the planning unit.
