摘要

I was surprised to read an article in the January '09 issue of Resource Recycling regarding our nation's newest president, Barack Obama. Not that an article about the new U.S. president shouldn't be in a trade magazine focused on composting and recycling, but that it was written with such a liberal left slant. For starters, [writer] Justin Gast asks the question: What does the election of Barack Obama, as well as a new majority Democratic Congress, mean for the environment? Shortly, it will mean placing a huge debt on this nation that will affect us all for years. Secondly, Mr. Gast cited liberals like Robert Kennedy Jr., who isn't even a credible source. This article would fit better in the Sierra Club's Sierra Magazine, or in many other environmental magazines. Truthfully, I don't see that it has any value to a composter or recycler, unless he/she has an ideology like Justin Gast's.
