The future looked so rosy for recycling in Indiana - in March, the state passed a bill shooting for a 50 percent recycling goal and, thanks in part to the efforts of the Indiana Recycling Coalition, its board, and executive director, Carey Hamilton, a growing alliance of manufacturers, brand owners and other stakeholders were coming together to support recycling in the Hoosier State. Indiana is particularly well positioned for such a push, with numerous manufacturers of packaging of different material types having large-scale operations in or near the state. When you look at the list, it reads like a veritable who's who of consumers of the types of materials that would be found in a curbside recycling cart.
