Creating a master suite that would provide a strong sense of peace and serves as the homeowners' refuge and sanctuary was the objective for Harold Forrest Dietrich Architects located in Deerfield, Ill. The homeowners wanted a master suite that would serve as their cottage-a place wherernthey felt they had gone away but never left.rnThe major challenge for this project was to create an inward-focused and private master suite while ensuring strong connections to the yard and abundant natural lighting. The closets were placedrnclose to the lot line to act as a buffer.
