摘要

The present invention provides a method to allow a consuming ECU to communicate to a satellite camera the need to switch from a full scene view with reduced content details to a subset view with much more detail at a reduced bandwidth. In one example, and in the case where an object of interest is not detected, the consuming ECU commands the camera to provide the full field of view image at a lower resolution, with a monochrome color and lower frame rate 1. Once an object of interest is identified by the consuming ECU, the consuming ECU can then provide coordinates A & B for the object of interest and therefore, commands the camera to provide more details for a subset of the scene that includes the object of interest. The camera in turn switches to only providing image of the area of interest at a native/full resolution, full color content and at a faster frame rate 2. This technique is aimed toward allowing the consuming ECU to command the remote camera to switch between a scanning mode and a tracking mode, and therefore, allowing the consuming ECU to retrieve the important relevant video data while maintaining a reduced bandwidth.
