During construction of drywall ceilings, L-shaped soffit cleats are generally used to connect the entire ceiling frame to rawl plug. One end of the L-Shape is attached to rawl plug using M6 nut while the other end is attached to the ceiling angle using M6 nut and bolt. The existing soffit cleat installation is complex where the installer needs to place the soffit cleat into rawl plug and tight it with nut using spanner or relevant tool standing at 3m or 4m of height. Post installation soffit cleat deflects due to ceiling self-load which leads to cracking on the joints.
