The present invention is an algorithm, which has been specifically designed for CVT to prevent chain slip and increase fuel economy simultaneously. It assumes that the torque converter modeled engine torque is more accurate than the modeled engine torque when the torque converter clutch is in open state and only works when this specific condition is TRUE.
