EasyJet is set to become the largest operator out of Gatwick - with a 29% market share - when it takes over GB Airways from the Bland Group for ζ103.5 million. GB had been operating under a British Airways franchise agreement, but a BA decision to rid itself of its UK franchises meant that GB was ripe for takeover and provided valuable extra slots at Gatwick.
