Many readers of Reference Reviews, this reviewer among them, will staunchly defend the continued publication of printed reference books. Although so much information can be rapidly found from online sources, a reference book often provides authority which may be lacking from a webpage. Of course, this Dictionary covers much more than the BBC, although there are 18 pages of entries under that heading alone, and it does provide a single point of reference for a much wider range of information than would be found on that website. And as this is the second edition of this volume (the first was published in 2006 (RR 2007/192), the publishers must be confident that there is a market for it.
