The Beatles Encyclopedia: Everything Fab Four [Condensed edition]

ABC-CLIO's 2016 release of Dr Kenneth Womack's The Beatles Encyclopedia: Everything Fab Four is a condensed and slightly updated version of a 2014 publication with the same title, also reviewed in these columns (RR 2015/187), and published 50 years after the group's legendary appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. Womack, Dean of the Wayne D. McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Monmouth University, has produced other books on the Beatles and authored an upcoming book on the life of Beatles producer George Martin. Although not as comprehensive as its predecessor, the 2016 version of the encyclopedia is a detailed examination of all things Beatles and includes copious information on band members and their families, music, personal relationships, business partners, famous locations associated with the band's career and important performances and venues.
