Whether it is pizza, pretzels or plumbing - franchising works, but it's not the best plan for everybody. I was recently asked to share my thoughts on franchising with a contractor group. We all have our opinions about the franchise model. I'll share some of mine here. As a franchiser and member of the International Franchise Association, I firmly believe in the franchise model as a way of doing business. It is highly successful and transcends industries and continents. I see franchising as a seed that produces a yield. It's simple. Develop the seed, test it, prove it, enjoy the harvest and plant more seeds, thus giving others opportunity for business ownership to others.
