Blue 'King' is crowning glory for SVR gala

With the restoration of the sole surviving single chimney GWR 'King' class 6023 King Edward // nearing completion (Rl January), following its running-in on the Mid-Norfolk Railway it has been booked to appear alongside 5029 Nunney Castle at the Severn Valley Railway's all-GWR Autumn Steam Gala from September 23-25. While the 'King' is visiting the SVR, it is expected that preparations for main line certification will begin, and this will continue at the Great Central Railway where the 'King' will visit for the October 6-9 Steam Railway gala.
