GBRf 20s have ploughs

Two Of the GB Railfreight Class 20 fleet, 20901/905, have been fitted with snowploughs as the locos are prepared for spot hire ploughing duties with Network Rail. The modification has been possible as there has been a reduction in the requirement from eight to four Class 20s for LUL stock moves by GBRf. The locos, owned by HNRC, will be stabled at strategic locations as required on standby for plough purposes. In previous years, NR has drawn on locos from DB Schenker, GBRf, DRS and West Coast Railways to be strategically positioned in areas where heavy snow is expected.
