Bridging the European and U.S. Rail Safety Assurance (Tap: The feasibility of Cross Acceptance

This presentation held during the AREMA Conference's General Session on Monday, September 19, will address the integration of rail safety standards between the U.S and Central Europe. European companies have purchased major U.S. suppliers and have proven advanced train control systems accepted to European standards. These systems are now being considered for use on Positive Train Control and high-speed rail projects. However, there is a difference in the proof of safety methodologies used and regulatory approach in each market.
