Come this April, we will arrive at the two-year mark of when President Obama revealed his vision for high-speed rail in America. Since that announce ment, public opinion has waxed and waned with the politics surrounding higher-speed and high-speed rail. Who was awarded money and who reject ed money seemed to dominate the conversation. But there are railroads, researchers, associations and suppliers that have begun to tackle the practi cality of North American HSR issues and develop ideas to help move beyond vision and into engineering high-speed in America.
