The BOMBARDIER INNOVIA product family of Automated People Movers (APM), automated monorails and metros ensure urban flow in cities around the world - safely, efficiently, flexibly. These driverless, state-of-the-art transit solutions for urban centres and airports usually run on slim, contemporary guideways that are architecturally designed to integrate seamlessly into different environments and use minimum space. The latest landmark project for the INNOVIA Monorail 300 technology is in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where a new 24 km high capacity transit line known as Expresso Tiradentes is being constructed. The system, which includes 54 seven-car trains, will halve the commuting time for half a million residents daily, improving the quality of city life. The line is scheduled to open in 2015 and it will serve as an extension of the Sao Paulo Metro Line 2. When fully equipped, the new line will have the capacity to transport 48,000 passengers per hour per direction.
